What is Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM)?
When the Andrew’s government announced in 2020 “if you can work remotely, you must”, Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) became our best friend. This function has been crucial for businesses for the last 18 months. Now, with the move to working at home, online support is quickly becoming the new norm. So, what is Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM)?
RMM is when your IT, your network and devices, is supported from a remote location. By installing connections on your devices, IT Support can access your device and provide assistance almost immediately.
These connections are called ‘Agents’. They are lightweight applications that run in the background and do not affect any of the programs you run. They provide a secure connection between the device and IT Support to ensure the safety of data.
This remote monitoring system enable us to proactively manage your network and systems without interrupting productivity, reduce downtime when resolving issues and streamline regular monitoring and servicing.
In addition, RMM is a cost-effective way to manage IT. Without travel costs and prolonged downtime, issues are resolved in minutes rather then hours.
